Delphina is the green leader in Europe at the World Travel Awards 2023

Delphina confirms itself as the best Italian hotel group for the fourth consecutive year, and again as the best independent green hotel group in Europe. A journey that began even before the foundation of its facilities and is embodied in the We are green® brand, a best practices protocol created and registered by Delphina to represent its love for nature. Delphina hotels & resorts is the first Italian hotel chain to use 100% green energy, sourced from renewable sources, in all its hotels, resorts, and main office, saving approximately 20,663 tonnes of CO2eq over the past 6 years – an amount that would be absorbed by about 146,089 trees in a year. Delphina has also implemented significant plastic-free policies, saving 722,871 plastic bottles over the past 4 years, and is also committed to supporting local suppliers with the “Genuine Local Food Oriented®” initiative, promoting healthy cuisine based on genuine, seasonal ingredients, preferably sourced locally.

“Thank you to all our supporters who have enthusiastically recognised our actions and our green philosophy, which from the outset has been founded on sustainability, love for nature, and that local, familial touch we continually strive to convey”, states Elena Muntoni, Brand Manager of Delphina.

With 12 5-star, 4-star superior and 4-star hotels, exclusive residences, 6 SPAs and prestigious villas all nestled in green Mediterranean parks overlooking the sea between the Costa Smeralda, the La Maddalena Archipelago, and the Gulf of Asinara, Delphina hotels & resorts has for 30 years been a trusted partner in Sardinia for those seeking an authentic experience, enjoying the sea in complete freedom, surrounded by unparalleled landscapes, and engaging with the culture and traditions of the Island.

Green-themed awards were also secured by the Valle dell’Erica Resort, which was named Europe’s leading green resort for the fifth time. This was complemented by its reconfirmation as Italy’s Leading Green Resort 2023. A significant milestone for the stylish resort with a green soul, just minutes away from Santa Teresa Gallura. This exclusive Mediterranean location, spanning 28 hectares of parkland with Mediterranean shrubs and essences, boasts views over the La Maddalena and southern Corsica archipelagos, against a backdrop of 1,400 metres of pristine coastline and dreamy white sandy beaches. Like all Delphina properties, Valle dell’Erica uses only 100% green energy from renewable sources, has adopted robust plastic-free policies, and promotes healthy and local cuisine based on genuine ingredients, ideally sourced within close proximity.

The Resort & SPA Le Dune in Badesi was also honoured, being re-elected as Italy’s Leading Beach Resort, Italy’s top beach resort for the fourth consecutive year. Set within a 280,000-square-metre park of sand dunes, junipers, and fragrant Mediterranean scrub, this family paradise is a true natural oasis comprising 5 hotels, 9 restaurants, a refined SPA, a range of complimentary leisure activities, and facilities for water sports.
