Here’s the story of our victory in Madeira at the “Oscars of tourism,” the 2024 World Travel Awards. A tribute to Sardinia and our commitment to sustainability.
It’s a time of great celebration at Delphina: for the fourth consecutive year, we have triumphed at the final stage of the World Travel Awards, reclaiming the coveted title of World’s Leading Green Independent Hotel Group. Yes, you read that correctly: we have been awarded as the world’s greenest independent hotel group.
A night to remember
The ceremony, held on 25 November on the island of Madeira, was a true “Oscar night” that brought together, in a gala evening, the finest examples of tourism excellence from around the globe, recognised for their innovation and quality. Amidst applause and spotlights, the name of Delphina hotels & resorts once again took centre stage, confirming that our commitment to increasingly sustainable tourism is the right path. “Being recognised as the world’s greenest independent hotel group fills us with pride, and we are delighted that our guests feel engaged and increasingly appreciate our commitment to sustainability and respect for the nature that surrounds us,” said Elena Muntoni, Brand Director of Delphina.
A triumph of awards in 2024
This global success follows the five awards we won a few months ago at the European ceremony of the 2024 World Travel Awards, starting with the title of Italy’s Leading Hotel Group for Delphina. Additionally, the Resort & SPA Le Dune in Badesi retained the title of Italy’s Leading Beach Resort, while the Resort Valle dell’Erica Thalasso & SPA in Santa Teresa Gallura maintained its position as Europe’s Leading Green Resort and Italy’s Leading Green Resort. This is yet another acknowledgment of our commitment to sustainability and exceptional hospitality.
